This album contains a few photos and Google Earth maps illustrating various sections of the Swiss border. This is a tiny selection, intended only to provide small glimpses of a vastly diverse cultural and physical geography. Many more photos will come, mostly my own during the course of the summer.

The text in these groupings of photos sometimes reflects my original plan to hike clockwise around Switzerland. But the journey is now in three stages, with the 2011 portion going clockwise (Austria and Italy). In some places I’ve not fully updated the website. My apologies for any confusion.

Many photos in this current selection were taken off the Internet, and I have not obtained permission to use some of the images. The titles reflect their original names (as posted on the Internet) unless the photos are my own. The pictures reveal some of the flavor of these regions and will be replaced by my own photos once I’ve traveled here. This collection is simply intended to give a sense of the journey to come.
