Rescue Videos
About an hour after I called for a rescue, a guide and a medic rappelled from a helicopter to prepare me for the evacuation.
I shot the upper video of the medic descending from a helicopter after the guide had already tied into the mountain. You’ll see the guide and the loose rock at the end.
The middle video was shot by my partner, Cam Burns, and is in much lower resolution. It shows me being lifted off on the end of a cable. I wish I could have watched the ride better, but I was strapped into a neck and back brace and could hardly see a thing.
The bottom video is Cam’s heli lift down, where he soaks in the view I missed (click the triangle at the left). The ridge behind is the ridge we were climbing when I fell.
